Thank you Alyson, for an excellent two day course on Autumn Flowers. Right from the start, with the booking process and info about what to bring, I was impressed by the care the thought that went into the course. On arrival I was made to feel very welcome and not out of my depth even though it was my first venture into cold porcelain.
The finished result was a delight and I learnt so much in two days. I now feel able to get going with some work on my own designs. I was especially pleased that you took the time, at the end of two busy and tiring days, to show us how you make your cold porcelain. I am looking forward to having a go myself.

Dear Alyson, Many thanks for another wonderful weekend of fabulous company, fun and flowers. Deborah
A really great day Alyson! Thank you. Made it so easy for me as a beginner to learn a new craft and I really enjoyed the happy relaxed atmosphere. Look forward to the next chance I get to come to another workshop with you. Amy x
Had the most amazing weekend! Thank you Alyson for a terrific workshop - I'm chuffed to bits with what I achieved! I'm looking forward to learning more from you. Thanks too to Jackie for her kind hospitality and deliciously scrumptious cakes. Kindest regards Jan
Dear Alison, Thank you so much for a fantastic 3 days in Langworth, Lincolnshire. I have learnt so much and achieved much more than I thought possible . I'm not sure that I would have travelled to your home in Scotland as a complete beginner . I would certainly do so in future . Wendy
Hi Alyson, thankyou so much for a fab weekend . We have throughly enjoyed it , we are amazed at what we have achieved , no 1 teacher 😀. A lovely bunch of ladies again . Hi Alyson, Just to say thanks for a very interesting and productive week-end, I really did enjoy myself even though my hands and brain felt very tired. Your excellent teaching will now allow me to pace myself as I try to replicate all the things you taught me. I want also to thank you for your kindness and patience, I find that as I near my 80's I can easily slip into a sort of panic mode but your gentle, no pressure, attitude really helped me. If you think that you could put up with me again I would love to be included in your 'to be kept informed list'. Thanks again Shirley
I recently received this email and lovely photo from Lesley and would like to share it with you. I am as thrilled as she is with her finished spray - she has followed the book, experimented with colours and has created a super arrangement.
Hi Alyson,
Last summer I bought a copy of your book and started work on it in September at college.
I met you at Birmingham when I said I was making the display and you said you would
like to see my finished work well here it is. My family are very impressed with my work I hope you think
I did it justice.
I am now thinking of starting your latest book, I might get that finished for summer 2014.
Lesley
Add the white acrylic paint to the cold porcelain just as you are about to use it. The cold porcelain goes a long way so just add paint to the paste you are working with in the short term as you need it. Squeeze a small amount onto the cold porcelain or use a cocktail stick as you would if you were using a paste colour and mix it in. The aim is to make the paste white and avoid it becoming opaque when dry. When you have this base you can add whatever colour you want to use.
Delighted to say that my 2nd book Down the Garden Path is now published and was launched at the SECC in Glasgow at the ICHF Hobby Crafts Exhibition on 25th - 28th October 2012. This is a collection of 24 Spring and Summer Garden Flowers - all of which have come from my garden!
The book is now available on the website.
Thank you very much to all who have let me know how much you have enjoyed the projects in my first book Autumn Glory.
