2 Day Flower Workshop

Taking some inspiration from elements within my book Wild in the Garden, we shall include some Poppies in flower as well as seedpods of several kinds, reeds and rushes together with Mallow, Hawthorn and Virginia Creeper, Scots Pine and other's not in the book. A real earthy mix!

Equipment List – Wild in the Garden

Non stick board and rolling pin
Cel Pad - (soft sponge type matt)
Ball Tool, cel stick, scalpel, Jem tool

Textured veining tool

Wire cutters
Small sharp straight and curved scissors

Corn flour dusting pouch (top tip - dried wet wipe filled with corn flour secured by elastic band)
30g 28g 26g and 24g green wire and 28g, 26g, 24g white wire plus some stronger wires such as 18g, 20g green or white for support. Please note all wires can be white if preferred.
Green, red/burgundy and white Florist tape.

Pale white, cream or yellow thread
Dusting colour brushes (flat paint brushes are good)

Fine paint brush for painting.
1 old brush for using as glue brush.
Small jam jar (for water to keep glue brush from drying out)
Cold Porcelain

Kitchen Roll

Wet wipes

White Acrylic Paint
Plus any extra tools/helpful bits you may usually use …

 

Cutters and Veiners

 

Rose Petal cutters and veiners (Mallow) A soft fine lined veiner for petals is good if you have one.

Pelargonium leaf veiner (Mallow leaves) – Squires Great Impressions Optional

Poppy Petal cutter and veiner – large rose petal can be used for petals

Calyx cutter – small, medium, large

8 Petal Daisy cutter small

4 sepal fushia cutter (Beech Mast)

5 petal blossom cutter – small – (Hawthorn)

Rose leaf cutters small and medium – (Hawthorn leaves)

Virginial Creeper leaf cutters or Multi leaf petals cutters and rose leaf or multi leaf veiner

 

For any other foliage/flowers we make, I will have sufficient cutters and veiners to share amongst the class during the workshop.

 

Colour Base Paste : Goosberry green, yellow, cream

I will have a selection of colour pastes available to use.

 

Colouring Dusts - selections of poppy colours, reds/orange, pale pink, beige, brown deep purple, yellows, greens, reds/burgundy, black and brown and white. I rarely specify a particular brand or colour for you to bring, as part of the experience is to develop the colour palette with what you have – not what you think you need. (I will have supporting extras.)
